The agreement

These terms govern use of the SchoolApp platform by a subscribing institution ("the School") and its authorised users. By creating a workspace or using the service, the School accepts these terms. Where a separately signed agreement exists, that agreement takes precedence.

Accounts and access

The School is responsible for the accuracy of the records it uploads and for managing who has access. Administrator accounts can create, suspend and delete other accounts, and the School should review this list each academic year.

Credentials must not be shared between individuals. The School must notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorised access.

Acceptable use

The service may not be used to store unlawful content, to harass any person, to attempt to breach the security of the platform, or to reverse-engineer, resell or sublicense the software without written permission.

Automated access is permitted only through our documented API and within published rate limits.

Fees and billing

Subscriptions are billed per enrolled student, either monthly or annually in advance. Enrolment is counted on the first day of each billing period. Adding staff accounts never changes the fee.

• Annual plans are invoiced once and carry a discount against the monthly rate.
• Prices are exclusive of GST and any applicable local taxes.
• Invoices are payable within 30 days of issue.

We give at least 60 days' notice of any price change, which will not take effect mid-term.

Data ownership

The School owns all data it uploads. We claim no ownership over student records, marks, financial data or documents. We process that data only to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy.

The School may export its complete dataset at any time in CSV or JSON format, without charge.

Availability

We target 99.9% monthly availability, excluding scheduled maintenance announced at least 72 hours in advance. Current and historical availability is published on our status page.

Where monthly availability falls below target, the School may request a service credit against the following invoice.

Term and termination

Subscriptions run for the agreed term and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 30 days before renewal. The School may terminate at any time for material breach that remains uncured 30 days after written notice.

On termination, data remains available for export for 90 days before permanent deletion.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Our aggregate liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees paid by the School in that period.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or anything that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ernakulam, Kerala. For schools outside India, a local addendum may apply — contact legal@schoolapp.example.
